Our decision to buy a home in the Coachella Valley was rather spontaneous. We were spending Thanksgiving with family in LA and my wife and I came to the same conclusion: Wouldn’t it be nice to spend more time here. I shared with her that I was already looking at listings (Coachella Valley checked multiple boxes) and had identified a realtor I thought we could work with. That realtor was Brandy Valentine. Brandy has absolutely mastered the art of the YouTube channel. Her videos really spoke to us. They are genuine and informative, with a splash of irreverence. They definitely helped us get up to speed. Although ours was a long distance relationship, Brandy always made us feel like we were her sole focus. Brandy is a Real Estate Agent who REALLY knows the Coachella Valley: she grew up there! She is very patient, easy to work with and will always keep your best interests in mind. Brandy’s market knowledge helped me get the most possible when selling a former rental home which needed quite a few things fixed before the buyer’s FHA loan could be approved. Specific criteria had to be met and she ensured that we met those standards and kept everyone involved on the same team. Often repair situations can get confrontational or even stop a sale from happening. Brandy made sure to communicate at every stage so expectations were met and emotions stayed on the sidelines. After that sale closed, and it was time for me to purchase another home, I made an offer and found myself in a bidding war. Brandy helped me navigate that situation and I eventually withdrew my offer to pursue other listings. She told me the right house would come along when the time was right. A few weeks later, I made an offer on a different listing. The offer was countered, and we agreed on a sale price. Unfortunately (or fortunately really) the home inspector uncovered possible water damage in numerous locations. We hired a mold inspector and after getting the report, I decided to rescind my purchase offer. Brandy helped me navigate the necessary paperwork and process to get my earnest deposit returned in a timely manner. She again assured me that right the house would come along. I want to point out that Brandy never pressured me or seemed frustrated by transactions being cancelled. She was professional, supportive and genuinely seemed to want what was best for me. Even if that meant waiting. As I mentioned earlier, she is very patient. Eventually another house came on the market and we made plans to see it the following day. Brandy was right! The right house DID come along. It was my favorite floorplan, on my favorite street of the community I wanted to live in. Plus it had a gorgeous view and was being sold by the original owner. The house had been lovingly cared for and thoughtfully upgraded over the years. My offer was accepted and at the walk-through the sellers took me from room to room to point out features and teach me how the various systems work. I am so grateful to have found my forever home. Throughout the entire process Brandy stayed in contact, was immediately available, was always helpful, cheerful and on-time. I always felt that she was doing her best and working hard to give me the best outcome possible. After working together over the past six months, Brandy seems like more than just my real estate agent. She’s my first friend in my brand new hometown. If you are buying or selling in Sun City Palm Desert, I can’t recommend Brandy high enough.
